About Haand

Haand was started in 2012 by Mark Warren and Chris Pence, friends who met in high school in Jacksonville, Florida circa 1999. They started Haand after Mark completed his Penland School of Crafts fellowship and Chris left his corporate accounting job. Chris handles the business side of Haand while Mark is responsible for the design and creative direction. Mark and the team make all of their pieces in a former hosiery mill in downtown Burlington, NC.

In 2020, Haand pivoted from working with restaurants (including Death and Taxes in Raleigh, Trail Blazer Tavern in San Francisco, and the Park Hyatt in NYC.) to selling its handmade ceramics direct-to-consumers.
