Half of Memorial Day sales are theater. The 23 brands below aren't — and the math is as good as it gets until Black Friday.
This is the weekend to lock in the investment pieces — the new sectional, the mattress upgrade, the patio set that finally turns the backyard into a place you actually want to be. The 23 brands below are sorted by category — sofas, mattresses, outdoor, bedding — so you can skip straight to what you're shopping for. Most deals run through early June, so you can take a beat. And worth knowing why this year is the year: furniture tariffs are tightening through the summer, so prices likely won't get better than this until late November.
If you only have five minutes:

Memorial Day is the loudest furniture-sale weekend of the spring, but loud doesn't mean every deal is a deal. A few principles we use ourselves:
Compare against the brand's typical pricing, not the inflated "MSRP." Direct-to-consumer brands rarely run "regular" pricing the way department stores do — what looks like 40% off may be 10% off the real number. A quick check of Wayback Machine or your inbox history (DTC brands email constantly) tells you whether the discount is meaningful.
Don't buy on a deadline if you'd hesitate without it. If you'd think twice without the urgency banner, you should think twice anyway. Most of these sales repeat at Labor Day, Black Friday, and Christmas — there will be another window.
Check return policies before you buy a sofa. Memorial Day pricing on a sofa you can't return is not a deal. Article and most of the brands above offer reasonable return windows; some don't. Read the fine print before checkout.
Ignore the "+ free shipping" theater. Most direct-to-consumer brands ship free year-round. The "free shipping" bullet during Memorial Day is usually marketing, not a real perk.
Bundle carefully. Mattress brands love bundle pricing because it raises the average order value. Real question: would you have bought the foundation, frame, or sheets anyway? If yes, bundle. If no, the bundle "savings" is just a nudge to spend more.
