Darryl Sharpton is a former NFL linebacker and furniture entrepreneur. Born January 1, 1988, he played college football at the University of Miami before being drafted by the Houston Texans in the 4th round of the 2010 NFL Draft. After five NFL seasons across the Houston Texans and Chicago Bears, multiple knee and shoulder surgeries ended his playing career.

While at the University of Miami, Sharpton studied finance and began selling furniture to earn extra money - planting the seeds for his second career. In 2017, he and his wife Jessica co-founded Edloe Finch Furniture Co., followed by Albany Park in 2019 - a direct-to-consumer sofa-in-a-box brand. The business grew rapidly during the pandemic, from $3.9M in revenue in 2019 to $20M in 2020. In April 2022, Exemplis acquired Edloe Finch (parent company of Albany Park) for $150 million.
