As a general rule, I love leather sofas and chairs. I love the high-quality look and buttery-soft feel of luxurious leather furniture – and it’s also easy to clean. However, one of my friends recently remodeled her home, and I was pretty impressed with her fabric-based living room furniture collection. So, when I was offered the opportunity to test a Park Sectional Sofa, I jumped at the chance to try it out. I was already thinking about getting a new sofa for a spare room – and I wanted one that was not only comfortable but would also look good in that space.
After bouncing around, working, and lying around binge-watching TV shows on it for a few weeks, this is my review of the sofa.
- Beautiful design: The mid-century style and smart details make this a versatile sectional that can fit well in any home ranging from traditional to modern.
- Comfortable: The sectional is made of foam wrapped in feathers, making it soft but not too soft.
- Versatility: Since the chaise can be configured for either the left or the right side, the sectional can be tailored to fit your room. Plus, you can choose from two leg colors and several fabrics.
- Convenience: The sectional ships right to your front door and is in several boxes, so you can easily move it by yourself.
- Fixed chaise: The chaise can’t be switched to the other side of the sofa. If you choose a left orientation, it will forever be on the left side of the couch.
- Low arms on the sides may not provide back support for tall people who want to sit sideways.
Frequently Asked Questions
How comfortable is the Albany Park Park Sectional?
The Park Sectional is genuinely comfortable — plush and a touch softer than medium-firm. It provides enough support that you don't feel like you're sinking into a marshmallow, but it's soft enough to curl up in for hours. The cushion density hits that sweet spot where it's great for both sitting upright and full-on lounging. Multiple reviewers (including us) found it comfortable enough for napping, which is the real test.
What upholstery choices does the Park Sectional have?
The Park collection comes in seven fabric choices: Distressed Vegan Leather, Blue Velvet, Mustard Velvet, Olive Velvet, Russet Leather, Cream Bouclé, and Gray Performance. That range covers everything from bold statement pieces to neutral crowd-pleasers. The vegan leather and performance fabric options are particularly practical for homes with kids or pets, while the velvets add a more elevated, design-forward look.
Is the Albany Park Sectional good for small apartments?
Albany Park offers the Park in several configurations, some of which are specifically designed for smaller spaces. The modular pieces ship in boxes that fit through narrow doorways and hallways — a genuine lifesaver in older apartment buildings. That said, a full sectional is still a sectional, so measure your space carefully. Albany Park's website provides detailed dimensions for each configuration, and their customer service team can help you figure out which setup fits your floor plan.
How does Albany Park compare to other DTC sofa brands?
Albany Park sits in the value-to-quality sweet spot of the DTC sofa market. They're more affordable than brands like Article, Burrow, and Interior Define while delivering solid comfort and decent build quality. The trade-off is slightly fewer customization options and less premium materials. But for buyers who want a good-looking, comfortable sofa without the premium DTC price tag, Albany Park consistently punches above its weight.
About
Albany Park
Albany Park was founded to simplify sofa buying
In 2017, Darryl and Jessica Sharpton wanted a new sofa for their home. But they soon realized the process was much more complex than it needed to be. The pair were overwhelmed by the options available in showrooms and online. And once you'd found a sofa you liked, the long delivery times were also frustrating.
The entrepreneurial couple decided to change things, and founded Albany Park.

Affordable sofas, delivered to your door
To fix the industry, the Sharptons developed three models of sofa that could meet the needs of most people — The Albany, The Park, and The Kova. They also decided to sell these sofas directly to consumers online to save expensive showroom costs, and additional shipping costs — these savings enabled to them make the sofas more affordable for consumers.
Along with fast shipping, Albany Park furniture also comes packaged in apartment-friendly, space-conscious boxes that can easily be maneuvered in stairwells, tight hallways and throughout any home.
