In fact, the UV-inhibiting, powder-coated finish is hand-applied by Arhaus furniture artisans. It features a dark gray, slightly textured patina that, according to the brand, is 10 times stronger than paint. And this craftsmanship extends all the way to each detail of the set, with the all-weather aluminium frame being supported with reinforced stress points and precision welds that make it as strong and sturdy as it is stunning.

What You Should Consider When Buying a Patio Dining Set
To find the very best patio dining set for your household, there are several important key factors to consider. Here, we cover all of the considerations you should make before deciding on the perfect set for your space.
Consider Your Style
While things like durability and weather resistance are definitely important considerations for outdoor dining sets, you also want the set to look great with the rest of your home styles and aesthetic. Just like your home decor, outdoor pieces need to work well together. Dufresne suggests that, “When deciding on a style, use the overall style of your home as a guide. Sticking to one style is the easiest option and will ensure your spaces are cohesive. For the more daring, a bit of mixing and matching of complementary styles can create something unique."
“When deciding on a style, use the overall style of your home as a guide. Sticking to one style is the easiest option and will ensure your spaces are cohesive."
Assess Your Space
Before deciding on a dining set, take some time to assess the size of your space and what size set would look best in it. If your dining set is too large, it will make your outdoor space feel cramped and crowded, but if it's too small, it can look out of place while failing to provide all of the seating options you may need.
“Measure your space before you start looking for an outdoor dining set," recommends Fretto. "A table that seats four might be better for a small yard or patio, whereas a larger dining table is perfect for hosting big families and dinner parties.” You can use painter's tape to mark off the dimensions of prospective dining sets on the ground to visually represent just how much of your outdoor space they'll command.
Pick the Right Materials
The materials from which your outdoor patio furniture is made are among the most important factors to consider because they'll dictate just how well the set can endure the outdoor elements. “Always choose materials that will withstand harsh UV light, as well as rain or snow where appropriate. All outdoor furniture should be moisture-resistant and non-rusting,” says Dufresne.
Betsy Moyer, co-founder and interior designer at Retreat, is a big fan of wood and concrete, and she offers some advice regarding metal: “We like hardwoods, like teak, for the combo of aesthetics, weight, and durability. Metal can get too hot, and if it's not iron or stainless steel it can topple over and land in the neighbor's yard. We are also leaning into shaped concrete as that has become quite trendy... But again, this choice is best informed by your elements. Salty moisture and rot are elements that we do not have to consider as strongly out in the desert. That can beat down on aluminum, especially if it isn't powder coated.”
Factor in Your Climate
Before deciding on some patio dining furniture, Moyer suggests asking yourself, “Is the area covered or uncovered? How much sunshine does the area receive? How much rain or snowfall do you get and what are the harshest elements you are working against? Since certain materials have their merits, these considerations are important."
For instance, if you live in a very humid climate that gets lots of rain, then you might benefit from a set that's primarily teak wood or powder-coated aluminium rather than fabric so that you won't have to worry about mildew or other moisture problems that can arise with upholstery. On the other hand, if you live in a dry, temperate climate, then you should be just fine with upholstery, especially if it's made from highly UV-resistant Sunbrella fabric.
