Labor Day is the last big furniture-sale weekend before Black Friday — and, as with every holiday sale, about half of what hits your inbox is theater. The brands below aren't. These are genuine discounts from brands we actually rate, sorted by category so you can skip straight to what you're shopping for.
If you've been sitting on an investment piece — the modular sectional, the mattress upgrade, the standing desk that finally fixes your posture — this is the weekend the math works. Most of these sales are already live and run through the first week of September, and with tariff-driven price increases still working through furniture catalogs, this year's Black Friday baseline may well sit higher than today's sale prices.

Sundays' Labor Day Sale is the brand's biggest promotion of the year outside Black Friday: up to 30% off sitewide, August 27 – September 9, no code needed. For quietly beautiful, family-proof furniture — including the Movie Night modular sofa — this is the window people wait all year for.
Sundays makes the kind of low-key Canadian-designed furniture that photographs like a catalog and survives like a playground. If it's not August 27 yet when you're reading this, the biggest headline number already live is Bellamia's 50% off sitewide, below. Shop Sundays' Labor Day Sale

The pick above, in detail. Sundays' Labor Day Sale runs August 27 – September 9 with up to 30% off sitewide — the deepest the brand goes outside Black Friday. Labor Day is a loud sale weekend, but loud doesn't mean every deal is a deal. A few rules we use ourselves:
Compare against the brand's normal price, not the "MSRP." Direct-to-consumer brands rarely sell at true "regular" pricing — what looks like 40% off can be 10% off the real number. A quick check of your inbox history or the Wayback Machine tells you whether the discount is meaningful.
Don't buy on a deadline you wouldn't buy on anyway. If you'd hesitate without the countdown banner, hesitate. The next comparable window is Black Friday — though this year, with tariff pressure moving through catalogs, the baseline prices then may be higher.
Check the return policy before you buy a sofa. Holiday pricing on a couch you can't return isn't a deal. Read the fine print before checkout.
Ignore "+ free shipping" theater. Most DTC brands ship free year-round. It's usually marketing, not a perk.
Bundle only if you'd have bought the pieces anyway. Mattress and room bundles raise the average order value by design. If you genuinely need the base or the pillows, bundle. If not, the "savings" is just a nudge to spend more.
