About DreamSofa

DreamSofa is a Los Angeles-based furniture brand that's been handcrafting custom sofas, sectionals, and beds since 2015. Their whole deal? Let you design the furniture instead of settling for whatever's on the showroom floor. Through their online platform, you pick everything — the silhouette, the depth, the fabric, even the firmness level — and their team of artisans builds it by hand in LA.

What sets DreamSofa apart from the flood of sofa-in-a-box brands is the level of customization. We're not talking "pick from three colors" customization — we're talking four different seat depths, four comfort levels, dozens of performance fabrics, and optional trim details like nailheads and wood accents. It's the kind of personalization you'd normally only get from a high-end showroom, but at a more accessible price point because they sell direct to you.

Shipping and Delivery

DreamSofa offers free delivery across the contiguous United States. Orders typically take about six weeks to build (they're handmade, after all), and their carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery window once your piece is ready. For an extra $149, you can upgrade to White Glove delivery — they'll bring it inside, set it up in your room of choice, and haul away all the packaging.

DreamSofa Product Ranges

Sofas & Sectionals

DreamSofa Landon Modular Sectional in a living room
DreamSofa's Modular Sectional Collection

This is DreamSofa's bread and butter. Their modular collections — like the Landon — let you build out a sectional that actually fits your space and your body. Choose from Classic (39"), Lounge (42"), Cloud (44"), or Dream (48") seat depths, and pick your comfort level from soft to firm. Every piece ships with removable, washable covers and CertiPUR-US certified foam, so you're not breathing in a chemistry experiment when it arrives. They also offer a full range of traditional sofas in styles from the classic Alton to the mid-century Oslo.

Chairs & Loungers

DreamSofa extends its custom approach to accent chairs and loungers, all built with the same premium materials and handcrafted construction as their sofas. Styles range from the tailored Bordeaux to the relaxed Oslo — great if you want a matching piece that doesn't feel like an afterthought.

Sofa Sleepers

For anyone who needs their sofa to double as a guest bed, DreamSofa offers sleeper versions of their most popular designs. Same customization options, same quality build — but with a pull-out mechanism that actually works for overnight guests.

Beds

DreamSofa also makes upholstered beds, bringing their fabric expertise and handcrafted approach into the bedroom. If you've already fallen for one of their fabrics on a sofa, you can carry that same look into your sleep space.

Materials and Manufacturing

DreamSofa's Quality & Craftsmanship

Everything DreamSofa makes is built in Los Angeles by a team of artisans who've been doing this for years. Their frames use kiln-dried solid wood — dried to remove all moisture so the frame holds its shape for 15+ years. The spring systems are either eight-way hand-tied or sinuous, both designed for serious long-term support.

On the cushion side, you've got options: high-density polyurethane foam (the most popular), eco-friendly high-resiliency foam wrapped in fiber padding, or a feather-and-down option if you want that sink-in luxury feel. All foam is CertiPUR-US certified, and DreamSofa skips the harsh fire retardants and unnecessary chemicals. They also source materials domestically to keep their carbon footprint smaller — a nice bonus if that matters to you (and it probably should).

DreamSofa was born in 2015 in Los Angeles with a pretty straightforward idea: furniture shopping shouldn't mean choosing between someone else's designs and blowing your budget at a custom showroom. The founders saw a gap between mass-produced, one-size-fits-all sofas and the exclusive (read: expensive) world of bespoke furniture, and decided to build something in between.

Their approach combines old-school craftsmanship — we're talking hand-tied springs and kiln-dried hardwood frames — with a modern direct-to-consumer model that cuts out the retail markup. Every piece is made to order in their LA workshop, which means nothing sits in a warehouse collecting dust. You design it, they build it, and it shows up at your door.

The brand's tagline, "Inspired By Life, Designed By You," isn't just marketing fluff. DreamSofa genuinely puts the design decisions in the customer's hands through their online configurator, where you can mix and match depths, fabrics, comfort levels, and finishing details. It's the kind of thing that makes you wonder why more furniture brands don't do this.

Being based in LA also means DreamSofa can keep a close eye on quality and sustainability. Domestic manufacturing significantly reduces their shipping footprint, and they're committed to eco-conscious production — no harsh chemicals, locally sourced materials, and a lifetime warranty that says they stand behind what they make.
