For many of us, our beds are our sanctuary. They’re where we retreat to after long, stressful days, and where we prepare to take on the day ahead. They also tend to get more use than most other furniture pieces in the home, so the right bedding can make a big difference in your daily (and nightly) life.

Before deciding on eucalyptus sheets, it helps to know what, exactly, they are and why so many people find them beneficial. “Eucalyptus sheets come in many forms, but in essence, they begin with the wood pulp of eucalyptus plants being dissolved in solvents to create fiber,” said Anni Stromfel. When woven together, the resulting fibers are super soft and offer some of the best cooling capabilities of any sheet type.
In addition to being comfortable and cool, eucalyptus bedding is also a great option for allergy sufferers. According to Karen Rohr, “Eucalyptus sheets are a popular choice for people with allergies, as they are naturally hypoallergenic and repel dust mites.”
The Benefits of Eucalyptus Sheets
Given how many benefits eucalyptus sheets can bring to the bedroom, it’s easy to see why they’re so popular. “Eucalyptus sheets are breathable, moisture-wicking, cool to the touch, and luxuriously soft and smooth,” said Anni Stromfeld. This makes them ideal for hot sleepers and anyone who suffers from night sweats.
Additionally, eucalyptus is a much more eco-friendly material than other popular sheet materials, like cotton. According to Karen Rohr, “Eucalyptus is a more sustainable material than cotton. It requires less water to grow and is often sourced from certified forests.”
Plus, eucalyptus bedding feels particularly great on the skin. “The fibers are longer and smoother [than many sheet fabrics], resulting in a luxurious feel that is perfect for those with sensitive skin,” says Rohr.
Allergy sufferers can also find a lot to love about eucalyptus sheets since, according to Rohr, “They’re naturally antimicrobial and resistant to mold and mildew.”
The Best Eucalyptus Sheets for 2023 According to Experts and Our Reviews
At Living Cozy, we do our best to test and review as many products as we can. For this review, we shipped sheets from Sijo, Nest, and Eucalpyso to our contributors to test at home and help us to find the best sheets on the market.
Speaking of eco-friendly, according to co-founder Anni Stromfeld, “SIJO’s TENCEL Lyocell sheets are made from eucalyptus wood pulp that’s responsibly sourced. Plus, our solvents are organic and manufactured using a closed-loop process. This creates less waste and creates a final product that is friendlier to the environment.”
In addition to being environmentally friendly, the sheets are all sorts of beautiful and comfortable, featuring six soft hues and a cooling, lightweight design that hot sleepers will love. You can also purchase a matching duvet cover or comforter to complete your bedding update.
After living with these sheets for a thorough product review, Heather Bien notes: "For hot sleepers or those in warm climates, the fabric really does sleep cool. As an added bonus, the fabric is hypoallergenic and antibacterial, meaning that you can fend off stink a little longer."
What we liked:

Nest’s Eucalyptus TENCEL sheets feature ultra-soft fibers designed to pull moisture from the body while being oh-so-soft and comfortable to the touch. They “feel like the cool side of the pillow,” says Sasha Weilbaker, who reviewed these sheets for Living Cozy. In other words, they’re a dream for hot sleepers.
The fibers are also made from eco-friendly FSC and PEFC wood so they’re as kind to Mother Nature as they are comfy to sleep on. And with five gorgeous neutral hues to choose from, you’ll have no trouble finding the perfect match for your aesthetic.

Eucalyptus Sheets FAQs
Are Eucalyptus Sheets Eco-Friendly?
Yes, eucalyptus sheets are definitely eco-friendly, especially when compared to many other popular sheet materials, like cotton. According to Brooke Alexander, “Eucalyptus is one of the best options for bedding if you're trying to be more green. When cutting down the eucalyptus tree, farmers cut the root without fully uprooting the plant. This allows for more growth! The tree then undergoes the Lyocell process to produce the fabric. The pulp is spun with a chemical solvent; a solvent reused several times to reduce water waste.”
Do Eucalyptus Sheets Help to Keep You Cool?
Eucalypts sheets are among the best cooling sheets you can buy thanks to their breathable, moisture-wicking design. “The breathability and moisture-wicking capabilities help to regulate temperature,” says Anni Stromfield. “This fabric is also cool to the touch, which enhances the cooling feeling, making it lovely for hot sleepers.” In other words, it’s just like sleeping on the cool side of the pillow, night after night.
